Óscar De Marcos (Athletic Bilbao)

28-year-old right-back, Óscar de Marcos has just finished his seventh season with the Basque club after signing from Deportivo Alaves at the start of the 2010/11 season. In that time, De Marcos has made a total of 323 appearances for Los Leones scoring 29 times and getting 35 assists.

Last season the Spaniard played in 32 games in all competitions for Los Rojiblancos and was involved in five of the teams 53 goals throughout the campaign.

De Marcos’ attacking instinct would make him a perfect fit for the club if Claude Puel does stay. In his last 18 games, Puel has deployed Saints in a 4-2-3-1 formation which relies on attacking full-backs who can bomb forward and help in midfield, meaning a team can have as many as six players up-field at any one time.
