The Mario Lemina saga at Southampton may finally be over as the midfielder has agreed to terms with Monaca and will go on loan with an obligation to buy.

The former French league champions have had a hard fall from grace, as their championship winning side was slowly picked off one-by-one from larger clubs, and are looking to turn things around before they find themselves relegated.

They have already purchased Wissam Ben Yedder from Sevilla to help their attack and are now looking to help the midfield out by bringing in both Mario Lemina and Tiemoue Bakayoko.

This move is good for all parties involved. For Southampton, they offload Mario Lemina and get his contract off the books and recoup some money. For Lemina, he gets his move away from Saints and will likely be one of the better players on the team and will enjoy the competition in the French League. And finally, for Monaco, the get a talented midfielder who will likely make plays in a match that help them win and help them regain their stature in the French League.

The reported move for Lemina is a transfer initially with an obligation to buy at the end of the loan. With this move, it only leaves a few Saint players left that need to be moved before the European window closes.

If the club can manage to offload Carrillo before the window closes I would be willing to say this was a very successful window for Southampton as they trimmed the squad and brought in young players who have tons of potential.

Hopefully, within the next few days everything will become official and we can put all of this drama behind us.
