Southampton forked out a previous Norwich City club record fee for Nathan Redmond and surprisingly, the Englishman might be on his way back in a Yellow shirt.
Beyond fleeting joy, Southampton fans always remain waiting patiently for their record recruitments to put a smile on their face. That's why Romulo's fresh update will have them hooked with excitement because they can enjoy a host of lucrative moves falling in place without caring about who got the better deal in the end.
After all, none of the Saints transfer fees is on the line, so there's no nervousness of comparing him to previous expensive letdowns. And as for those historic moves, Southampton have one instance to boast where they updated another club's transfer record and ended up acknowledging it was the right decision.
It was during former England attacker Nathan Redmond's £10m swoop where Norwich City accepted that their then forward had helped them surpass the biggest transfer payout they had received.
Redmond tipped to give back more joy to Norwich fans
And even overall, Nathan Redmond hadn't left any of his club feeling that the 31-year-old's presence didn't serve them well. Be it boyhood side Birmingham City's Carabao Cup glory, the undeniable attacking help at Southampton and being a promotion puzzle piece at Burnley at the very least, Redmond has repaid the faith of each of his fanbases.
Now, the Football League World believes Redmond can spread his giving back nature to Norwich as well. They don't necessarily need a good sell-on value from the experienced wide forward for a second time but he can give wings to their top-six hopes, something which is gradually fading there.
That's not true for a Southampton faceoff, though. The last one came in February's Burnley defeat and the upcoming one might take place in December where the Saints need to settle full-time scores with Redmond.
