Preston’s Pick: Oriol Romeu

Who else would it be? Southampton’s number 14 has made Victor Wanyama a distant memory and is the only player to start every match so far. He’s a contender for some major postseason team honours the way he’s been playing and there’s no reason to drop him as long as he stays fit.

Hickson’s Pick: Oriol Romeu

Oriol Romeu is a man growing in confidence at Southampton. With Wanyama’s departure, a vast majority of Saints fans were worried that we had no consistent replacement. But, Claude Puel gave Oriol a chance and hasn’t he stepped up to the plate! A particular example of how much he has improved is Leicester away (a few weeks ago), when he made a triple-block to deny the Foxes a definite goal. I’m sure Oriol can continue his form into Thursday night and stop Eder and Co. getting through to the back four.
