Southampton: Ask the Opposition-Manchester City

Obviously one of the biggest stories to come out of Manchester City this summer was the appointment of Pep Guardiola as manager. What are City fans expecting of him in his first season in charge, and do you feel he’s living up to those expectations?

Ben: I can’t speak for all City fans, only myself, but expectations are pretty high. Given the success Pep’s had at Barcelona and Bayern Munich, anything less than winning the league this year will be a huge disappointment. That must happen first and foremost. A double would be nice with the FA Cup. A deep run to the Champions League semifinal – Guardiola’s never fallen short of that mark – I think is also expected, especially given that City last year made it that far, and they’re more talented this year.
