City have two great young talents in Kelechi Iheanacho and Raheem Sterling. How important is it to develop and retain that talent for the future?

Ben: Well, it’s interesting that you bring you up Sterling and Iheanacho. Sterling represents the new City – big money purchases of marquee talent. Iheanacho is homegrown and from the academy. I’m not a fan of gratuitous spending in transfer window. I think City needs to develop more talent that makes it to the first team like Iheanacho has. With that said, though, I think Sterling is eminently more talented than Iheancho, and the Nigerian will eventually leave the club. Big money signing Gabriel Jesus is better than Iheanacho and will supplant him when he returns from loan. So yes, developing young, City talent is important for the club develop less expensive ways of becoming competitive with the best clubs in the world.
