Winger Josh Sims has signed a new contract with Southampton Football Club.

The contract is for three and a half a years for the academy product. An English International at the youth level Sims has made advancements in his career with the Saints. Already, he has four Premier League appearances and played in the EFL Cup well as the Europa League.

Sims on his new contract said:

“I’m absolutely delighted to sign a new contract with the club. I’m really happy that the club have put faith in me to offer me a new contract. I can’t really put into words how good it has been recently, but I just need to push on now and continue my progress.

I can’t see why you wouldn’t want to sign here. This is definitely the club for me to help me progress and aspire to be like some of the other Academy graduates to have come through.”

The Executive Director of Football Les Reed added: “We’re thrilled that Josh has extended his commitment to Southampton Football Club until at least 2020.”

Sim is a player whose main role has been depth for the wingers. With the 4-3-3 formation the Manager Puel uses he makes for a good backup. Also as a change of place player for less intense games, for now.
