Whether you get relegated by 15 points or by one on the final day of the season, your team always has gems that can be snapped by the surviving teams, and this year is no exception.

With some teams having just seven Premier League games remaining, the 2016-17 campaign is soon to come to and end, meaning three unlucky sides will be relegated to the Championship.

But those team’s starting XI’s on 2017-18’s opening day will greatly contrast from the side that got relegated the season before, with several of each team’s top performers leaving over summer.

Last year Southampton signed Nathan Redmond from Norwich City after their relegation from the top flight, and the transfer has been arguably the Saints best deal of last summer.

The young Englishman took his season tally to five last night, whilst also playing a key part in Maya Yoshida’s goal to give Southampton the lead.

With that in mind, Saints Marching takes a look at five relegation-threatened plays who Claude Puel’s side should target this summer.
