4. Andrew Robertson

With paper talk, you have to take everything with a pinch of salt. Earlier this week Ryan Bertrand was linked with a spectacular move back to his former club Chelsea, which would leave the Saints extremely thin down the left.

Without Bertrand, Matt Targett would be the only out-and-out left-back at Claude Puel’s disposal, and one perfect filler for that void would be Andrew Robertson.

The Scottish international has been linked with a move to a host of Premier League side’s over the past few years, especially after his Hull City side got relegated in 2015.

The former Dundee United man can be compared to Bertrand on several fronts, with both full-backs have contributed with goals and assists this season.

What’s more, Robertson boasts around a 76-percent pass completion rate and nearly a cross every game for Marco Silva’s rejuvenated side, but it might not be enough.

Hull are two points clear of safety but boast a staggeringly low goal difference, meaning they would likely go down if they finish level on points with another team.

Even if Robertson and his team don’t get relegated the 23-year-old still remains a viable candidate for the Saints to look at, especially as he only has room to grow.
