Harrison Reed

A youngster who once was the focal point of potential in the youth squad, Reed is now 21-years of age and still does not see regular football. Whether it be a temporary loan spell or a full-on sell, Reed could use more experience at another location.

The 21-year-old plays at a position that is crowded in the depth-chart and full of talent in the Southampton line-up. With the likes of Oriol Romeu, Steven Davis, and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, it doesn’t look likely for Reed to get regular playing time soon.

With this being said, it cannot be overlooked that he is a talented player. There are many attributes that the 21-year-old is excelling in that cannot be overlooked. These cannot grow without the opportunity to getting playing time.

He has the tools to become a regular started in the Saint’s lineup, but that looks to be several years down the road, and the potential won’t be tapped without playing time. It is in the best interest of Reed and the organization for him to go elsewhere whether it be a loan spell or selling him outright.
