Wednesday-Thursday
The middle of the week saw arguably one of the more interesting transfer rumours come to light, as it was reported that Chelsea had taken the lead in the race for Virgil van Dijk.
This was because they were reportedly willing to offer a cash-plus-player deal, which would see either Andreas Christensen or Kurt Zouma.

With the latter already being a household name in the Premier League he is seemingly the fans’ choice should they have to trade VVD to Chelsea. Zouma received near enough two thirds of the voting making him the obvious winner of the poll.
The week’s final poll once again referenced Puel, as the Saints went into two games in four days – both of which they were odds-on to lose.
Every prior report had suggested that the Frenchman would not leave until the end of the season, but two more losses would leave him out of favour at the St. Mary’s Stadium.
DAILY POLL: If Southampton fail to pick up a single point in their two upcoming games, should Puel be sacked? #SaintsFC
— Saints Marching (@SaintsMarching_) May 4, 2017
Almost three quarters of the 69 voters were in agreement that he should be sacked at some point – and over 40 percent thought he should be given the sack if the Saints fail to register a single point in games against Liverpool and Arsenal.
