Yesterday the Saints drew 0-0 once again, with the latest victims of Southampton’s lack of intent being Manchester United.

Claude Puel’s men failed to score again last night, making it their seventh goalless draw of the season. It was also their third in five games.

In fact it’s now been as many as six hours since the supporters have seen a home goal at St. Mary’s, calling for more talk of ‘Puel Out’.

The Frenchman’s decision to remove an impressive James Ward-Prowse from the game saw boos ring around the ground, as it also meant that Charlie Austin wouldn’t be able to make an appearance in the game.

Despite the poor performance Southampton are now eighth in their own right, a point ahead of West Brom going into the final game of the season against Stoke City.

Saints Marching now takes a look at three takeaways that can be drawn from the side’s game against United last night.
