Harry Maguire (Hull City)

Much like Conor Dunford I’m a massive fan of Harry Maguire. Signing a defender from a relegated side may seem stupid, but I think he has great potential to replace the style of centre-back we lost when Jose Fonte joined West Ham.

Powerful, commanding, and with good leadership skills at the age of 24, Maguire could well be in with a shout of making England’s World Cup squad next summer if he stays in the Premier League.

He might not be the best defender on the ball despite his two league assists, but alongside a pacier player like Stephens, Yoshida or even Le Marchand he could prove a great addition.

This is all assuming that the Saints sell Virgil van Dijk this summer for a big fee. Although with Gardos and Caceres potentially leaving this summer one could argue that whatever happens Southampton should sign two centre-backs.
