Wayne Hennessey (Crystal Palace)

My final player of choice for this wishlist is Wayne Hennessey, the Palace ‘keeper. He’s actually out of contract this summer, something that has gone under the radar with the likes of Yaya Toure and Santi Cazorla coming to the end of their deals.

Fraser Forster has had a shaky season to say the least, with plenty of ups and downs. The main issue is that with Alex McCarthy injured he hasn’t had any competition. Mouez Hassan will seemingly leave in the summer and Stuart Taylor will unlikely feature next year.

Therefore signing a stopper with the quality to challenge Forster should be on Saints’ targets this summer, and for free Hennessey is a steal. He’s tall, commanding, and boasts plenty of Premier League experience.

He’s arguably a better goalkeeper than McCarthy too and is a full-fledged Wales international. I’d love to see him join the Saints on a free transfer this July.
