Southampton could be in for a serious shake-up this summer, with some top-level recruitment needed to bounce back next season.

The likes of Shane Long, Jay Rodriguez, Florin Gardos and Cuco Martina could all be heading for the Saints exit door. What’s more, top talents like Virgil van Dijk and Cedric Soares could also leave to join some of Europe’s elite.

All in all, it’s a fair assessment to say that Southampton will be in for a busy summer, whether Claude Puel is in charge come August or not.

Despite finishing eighth the Saints were closer points-wise to the relegated Hull City than they were to Everton above them in seventh, and they’ve only scored 41 goals in total this campaign.

With that in mind Saints Marching contributor, Josh Kingdom offers his five-man wishlist of players he thinks the club should recruit this summer.
