Southampton’s Ryan Bertrand is seemingly off to Manchester City, if reports are to believed.

With Virgil van Dijk’s ‘will he, won’t he’ transfer saga dominating Southampton’s headlines since the season finished, another key Saints player has seemingly slipped through the club’s fingers, as Ryan Bertrand looks set to make a shock switch to Manchester City.

The Citizens were originally targeting Monaco’s Benjamin Mendy to replace the outgoing Gael Clichy, who will leave the side at the end of his contract next month.

Having been priced out of a move for the Frenchman though Pep Guardiola has reportedly turned his attention to Southampton and their star full-back, who has registered four league assists this campaign.

Bertrand was previously targeted by former employers Chelsea in a £20-25 million raid, a fee that could be nearly half the £40 million the Ligue 1 champions were demanding for Mendy.

With Bertrand looking set to leave the side after three years at the club, Saints Marching takes a look at five possible replacements for the England international.
