Saints duo Steven Davis and Ryan Bertrand both played for their respective international sides tonight.

Amid speculation of his long-term future with the Saints, left-back Ryan Bertrand has played the full 90 minutes of England’s 2-2 draw against rivals Scotland.

The former Chelsea full-back is reportedly close to joining Manchester City, and his ability was shown tonight. He made three key passes and completed nearly 88 percent of his pass attempts, as England could only take a share of the spoils.

Two Leigh Griffiths goals saw Scotland head for what would’ve been an incredible victory, but for a dramatic late goal from Tottenham’s Harry Kane.

Joe Hart played the duration in goal meaning backup stopper Fraser Forster was forced to watch on from the bench as the Three Lions picked up a single point.

Meanwhile club captain Steven Davis played the entirety of Northern Ireland’s victory against Azerbaijan tonight too.

The midfielder picked up a yellow card but was still influential in his side’s victory, which came courtesy of a dramatic 92nd minute goal from Leeds’ Stuart Dallas, with the winger having been set up by West Brom’s Jonny Evans.

Steven Davis and his side are well on course for qualification to next year’s World Cup in Russia with the win, with only current holders Germany ahead of them in their group.

England meanwhile remain undefeated with four wins and two draws so far, which is enough for them to lead their group. However both Slovakia and Slovenia are breathing down the neck of Gareth Southgate’s team, as they’re two and three points behind respectively.
