Several Southampton players have sailed away from the Solent docks to join Liverpool in recent years, which although has been a profitable piece of business, has been sad to see quality players join league rivals, Liverpool.

Southampton has held a grudge, however, displaying interest in Liverpool target Emre Mor of Borussia Dortmund.

Emre Mor has been at Dortmund just one season and is only 19 years of age. He has already opened his account for the club and is a regular Turkish international. You can see why the likes of Liverpool are after him. However, Southampton has since sparked their interest in joining the race for his signature, which the soon-to-be-announced manager Mauricio Pellegrino will be motivated to make happen.

Emre Mor is wanting more game time, having only made 12 appearances for Borussia Dortmund, seven from the bench. It is likely he would consider a loan move to Liverpool, but would he consider making a permanent move to Southampton, where he would be guaranteed at least the game time he craves?

It is an exciting prospect to develop a player with undoubtedly plenty of talent and is experienced at full international level. Emre Mor can play multiple positions, featuring mainly in attacking midfield or on the wing.

He showed his quality during an international game against Moldova, finishing off a move in style by taking the ball beyond the defensive player and goalkeeper.

He has both pace and skill to work the back four of a Premier League outfit, which he demonstrated during a friendly fixture with Manchester City in July 2016.

The big question is would Emre Mor swap his yellow and black jersey for a red and white one? A loan deal could result in a permanent move eventually, giving him the opportunity to experience the English top flight but without the pressure. This could be an ideal solution.
