Cons

This deal could have a sour taste to some of the Saints faithful. Many believe that they saw the ‘old Jay’ creeping back with stellar performances such as the away fixture at Bournemouth.

I fear the fact that he is going to a Premier League rival and the potential repercussions could be either mass or limited. If he ever was to get over his injury, we would have just handed a striker that could potentially net 15/20 goals a season to a rival which may affect our domestic standing in the long term. Was this a missed opportunity?

With Mauricio Pellegrino at the helm, there is no wonder as to what he could have done with the former Burnley man. He definitely fits the mold of striker Deyverson, whom was a player that thrived under Pellegrino at Alaves.
