Josh Sims

Firstly, Josh Sims. In my opinion an extremely exciting prospect for Southampton. He proved in that semi-final win at Anfield what his game is all about.

A pacey and direct winger, comfortable using both feet and attacking players when on the ball, he brings a dynamism and fresh approach not seen often enough in Southampton colours last season.

He managed a respectable 13 appearances in the 16/17 season. Despite many of these being substitute appearances and in the lesser cup games, as previously mentioned he contributed massively to Shane Long’s winner against Liverpool in the EFL Cup.

A more consistent run of games, giving confidence and match sharpness could do wonders for Sims. He has a lot to give, and hopefully new manager Mauricio Pellegrino can see that and involves him a lot more this coming season.
