Southampton loan Olufela Olomola to Yeovil Town

Highly-rated young forward Olufela Olomola has officially joined the League Two outfit on a short-term loan deal.
Announced through the club’s official Twitter, Southampton have today revealed that Olomola has joined up with Yeovil Town on a loan deal that will initially run until January 3rd.
Signed from the Arsenal academy in 2014, the London-born Olomola can chose to either represent England or Nigeria at international level.
The youngster is held in high regard by the club, and last year averaged around a goal every other game in the Premier League 2, with seven in 16 appearances.
He joins a Glovers side who narrowly managed to survive the drop from League Two to National League, finishing 20th last campaign.
The club will be hoping Olomola can bang in the goals for them, having fired blanks for much of last season, with only Leyton Orient’s 47 worse than their final tally of 49.
The 19-year-old made his senior Southampton debut last season, replacing Jay Rodriguez in an EFL Cup game against Sunderland last October.
Touted as a potential starter in the future, Olomola possesses good self-confidence with natural pace and an eye for goal. Upon making his official debut for the Southampton side last calendar year, it was clear that the youngster has ambitions to be a first-team player with the Saints.
"He said: “It was a dream come true to make my debut in front of all those fans and I’m grateful to the manager for the opportunity.“When you’re on the bench they tell you to be ready at any moment as anything can happen, so I was ready.“I tried to show the manager what I can and I gave it my all. The manager told me to save my energy and not try to win every ball!”"
It remains unclear at this point whether Olomola’s loan could possibly be extended come January, or whether he will be return to the Saints regardless at the start of 2018.
