Ivan Santini – Caen, France
Saints have recently been linked with young Caen winger Yann Karamoh, but there is also a case for Les Reed to consider his teammate Ivan Santini.
The 6’3” Croatian only signed from Standard Liege last summer, but has had an excellent debut season in Ligue 1. He was Caen’s top scorer with a total of 16 goals in 36 appearances, a solid haul for a team that finished 17th in the table.
Santini is 28 years old, but only made his international debut this year. However his experience coupled with his proven goal scoring ability could interest a number of Premier League teams.
Caen surely view Santini as vital to their continued Ligue 1 survival, and with 2 years left on his contract will be hoping he stays at least another year.
Last week Santini was suggested as an upgrade for Tottenham flop Vincent Janssen, but his stature and strength could also make him a great addition to the Saints front line.
