Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

It would be brilliant to see such a talent back at St. Mary’s, and although Southampton’s chances may be slim, they must do everything they can to bring him home.

Contract talks with Arsenal have stalled, and a move away from London is now looking increasingly likely for the Ox.

Unquestionably, the 23-year-old has the world at his feet, and is linked with top clubs like Liverpool, but a move to Southampton – where he would have guaranteed football – would make perfect sense.

A midfield role for Oxlade-Chamberlain is something the Saints can offer, and a potential move would suit him.

His work ethic and his attitude epitomises everything about Southampton are about, and a return would be one of the transfer stories of the summer.
