Defend from set-pieces better

Two of Augsburg’s goals were scored directly from set pieces which isn’t good enough. Generally, we aren’t a team well-known to be bad at defending set-pieces but it is such a basic thing that really needs to be resolved quickly.

It could be argued that neither of Jack Stephens or Maya Yoshida are particularly strong in the air, meaning extra time needs to be taken by Pellegrino to assess these issues.

Fraser Forster – who signed a new five-year deal last month – could also do with being a little more consistent after a couple of dodgy performances since summer.
