Who should play in Southampton’s #10 role against Swansea?
By Erik Franzo
Dusan Tadic
His technique and vision in passing make him a leading candidate. He can unlock defenses with touch passes through the defensive line. He is one of the few players who looks to connect with Gabbiadini making his quick-darting runs off the ball.
The Serbian does lack finishing skills and strength to hold up the ball in traffic, but is creative enough to draw a foul and a free kick in a good area.
I see his true position as a winger or inside forward though who lives on the wing and swings inside from time to time. I miss the days where he was near the top of the Premier League in chance creation, primarily from crossing it into the box. Wouldn’t that work well when you have three true aerial threats in Manolo Gabbiadini, Charlie Austin, and Shane Long?
