Yesterday Southampton drew 0-0 with Swansea in what was an exciting, albeit disappointing affair.

Mauricio Pellegrino’s first taste of Premier League ended in a stalemate, but there was much to be taken from the match.

Southampton should’ve perhaps come away with more after registering nearly 30 attempts at goal, especially as the Swans were without Fernando Llorente and Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Manolo Gabbiadini got the nod ahead of Charlie Austin and Cedric was deemed fit enough to play the full 90, whilst Dusan Tadic remained part of first-team plans despite a sub-par 2016/17 campaign.

The Saints have no not scored at home in just under 550 minutes of football, and despite Pellegrino’s positive mindset it’s still worrying that the Saints have to play at home again next weekend.

But what else can be drawn from Southampton’s goalless draw? Saints Marching takes a look.
