Jack Stephens is looking sharper than ever

He might not have the potential to be a world-class centre-half, but Jack Stephens looked sharp yesterday and could be in for another impressive season on the south coast.

Stephens made three interceptions whilst also not giving away a single foul. He completed nearly 84 percent of his pass attempts and all-in-all had a successful afternoon at St. Mary’s.

At just 23, Stephens has plenty of room to grow, and boasts the number five shirt with pride. Whilst his performance wasn’t perfect, he showed that he’s ready for a 30+ game season in the Premier League, whether Southampton sign another defender or not.
