Southampton finally ended their 576 minute goal drought at a home in a feisty 3-2 win overa ten-man West Ham United.

After the disappointment of not taking all three points against Swansea last week, the Saints got out of jail with Charlie Austin’s last minute penalty winner.

Manalo Gabbiadini got his team off to a great start within just 11 minutes with a cool finish past goalkeeper Joe Hart.

Dusan Tadic gave the Saints breathing space from the spot but a resilient West Ham fought back thanks to two goals from Javier Hernandez.

But it was Austin’s penalty in the dying minutes that earned Southampton their first win of the season.

In what was a heated encounter at St Mary’s, Saints Marching looks at four things to take from a match that had everything.
