Ryan Bertrand 78 > 80

Much like Fraser Forster in an earlier prediction, Bertrand’s rating would be more a case of rectifying his previous overall of just 78.

The England international was one of Southampton’s leading assisters last campaign and deserves a rating that would put him on par with the likes of Danny Rose and Luke Shaw.

The 28-year-old has been subject of intense speculation all summer and had he moved to another club earlier, we might of already seen a higher rating from the former Chelsea man.

However last season both Bertrand and Cedric were shining lights in Southampton’s average campaign, and both should be rewarded for it.

Cedric Soares 78 > 80

The fact that Cedric didn’t get an upgrade between FIFA 16 and FIFA 17 is an absolute farce in itself, not to mention that on Ultimate Team he was given 78 pace at the start of the year.

Cedric has asserted himself as Portgual’s first-choice right-back and deserves a rating upgrade that puts him on par with Bertrand’s.

His pace and crossing stats deserve a solid upgrade on what he was given this time last year, and hopefully EA will do Southampton supporters justice with a worthy boost.
