Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Although Crystal Palace have had the worst ever start in Premier League history (after four games) you could argue they have found a midfield gem in Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

The Chelsea loanee was badly missed through injury in last week’s loss to Burnley, and has become a fan’s favourite already. His standout performance coming in a 1-0 defeat to Liverpool.

His ability to push his side up the pitch is unrivalled for someone of his age, and he will only get better the more he plays. Southampton will need Oriol Romeu to have a better game than he did against Watford last time out, and keep a close eye on Loftus-Cheek.

He has returned to training with Palace this week, and will surely be given some minutes by Hodgson in the centre of the park alongside Yohan Cabaye.
