On Saturday, the Saints went up against title favourites Manchester United in what looked to be Mauricio Pellegrino’s toughest test so far as Southampton manager, losing the game 1-0.

Despite starting the game strong, Saints went down in the 20th minute as the leagues joint top goalscorer, Romelu Lukaku, tapped in his rebounded header past the helpless Forster.

However, a very spirited display from Pellegrino’s men saw them dominate large amounts of the game. some fans are arguing the second half was the best performance all season. But there was still no end product.

The game saw some good performances from Saints players, but who were our three key men?
