Stoke City 2-1 Southampton: Three key players
By Edward Waugh
Sofiane Boufal
The Moroccan has had another difficult start to the season so far, however made Southampton click at the Bet365 stadium. He was subbed on in the 60th minute for captain Steven Davis.
It is clear that Boufal has great technique and potential, and this showed against Stoke City. Offering more going forward in his first 15 minutes on the pitch than what other teammates had in 60.
More chances were created as a team, as mentioned before, the majority coming in added time. It could be argued he would’ve had more influence on the game if he had started as he offers more flair when on the pitch.
Going forward, it would be preferable for the 24-year-old to have a run of games instead of the other players in Nathan Redmond or Dusan Tadic. This to try and unlock his capabilities and opposition defences as he has a spark about him.
