Southampton struggled to a 2-2 draw at home to Newcastle United on Saturday, with striker Manolo Gabbiadini scoring twice to rescue a point for the Saints.
Newcastle took the lead in the first-half through Isaac Hayden, but Gabbiadini’s fine individual goal drew Saints level just after half-time.
However, Ayoze Perez put the away side back in front a matter of seconds later, leaving Gabbiadini to salvage Saints a point from the penalty spot.
Mauricio Pellegrino played both Gabbiadini and Shane Long up front to try and solve his side’s goal-scoring problems, but problems clearly still exist in what seems a somewhat disjointed Saints team at the moment.
