Mario Lemina

It’s, quite frankly, getting ridiculous the amount of times we’ve sung this man’s praises here on Saints Marching. The standout performer this season, in my opinion, put in another man of the match shift against Newcastle with his excellent work rate, tackling and passing.

At times, it felt like Lemina was carrying Saints on his shoulders through the match and not once did he stop battling or stop chasing balls. He is slowly turning into the perfect central midfielder, with a bit of everything. Despite the disappointment for the Gabonese international as they failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup, it at least means he can get a full pre season under his belt  next year. That is, of course, if we don’t sell him.

I like what I’ve seen from the former Juventus man so far, he could definitely win the club points all on his own. More of the same, and we could be in for a real treat watching him for the rest of the season.
