Southampton returned to winning ways on Saturday, with Sofiane Boufal’s brilliant solo goal proving the difference between them and West Brom in a 1-0 win.

Saints enjoyed a large amount of possession in the game and created some decent openings, but it looked like two points would be dropped again.

However, Boufal’s mazy run from inside his own half was followed with an ice-cool finish 5 minutes from time and signalled an outpouring of relief around St Mary’s.

Southampton’s performance produced more positives following on from their draw with Newcastle, and there were some strong individual displays for Mauricio Pellegrino’s side.
