Pascal Groß

Arguably, Pascal Groß has been Brighton’s player of the season so far. Groß joined Brighton from Ingolstadt in Germany for an undisclosed fee. The central midfielder, who often plays up front for Brighton, has scored six goals and picked up four assists in nine games.

A good passing range and bravery in tackles makes him an ideal asset to Brighton who are going to need to grind out results. Comfortable on the ball and also a good set piece taker makes Groß a threat and a problem for the Saints defence. Whether he is playing up front or behind the striker, he will need to be closely monitored at all times or he could end up being a real handful for Pellegrino’s men.

The battle between him and Oriol Romeu could be a fascinating one. Romeu will need to utilise his physical presence in order to restrict the German from doing what he can do. If Southampton want to comfortably beat the seagulls, they will need to keep this man quiet.
