Brighton 1-1 Southampton: Three match takeaways
Gabbiadini got nothing
Gabbiadini is without a doubt our best striker at the moment and, despite being a player who plays in regard to form, he makes our team a whole lot better than without him.
However, in this game he hardly touched the ball and wasn’t given decent enough service to score a goal or even get a chance. Potentially this is partially his fault but he was happy enough to run towards and pressurise Ryan in the Brighton goal but he didn’t make good enough runs for a through ball to be slotted in to him.
Having said that, it didn’t really look like there was enough creativity to decide to put that ball in so there wasn’t really much Manolo could’ve done about his quiet day at the office.
