Ward-Prowse to start more?

One expected change in the starting line-up was the inclusion of James Ward-Prowse after the injury to Mario Lemina. It looks like Lemina could be out for the game next weekend so this should provide the 22-year-old with the opportunity to prove to the manager what he can do.

With a fully fit squad, it seems that Prowsey and Davis will be battling it out for a starting spot on the right-hand side of midfield whilst Redmond and Boufal fight for the left. Striking the free-kick that lead to our goal and whipping in some decent corners, Prowsey proved his skill with set-piece delivery and that seems to be an element that we’ve been missing of late. Does he deserve a starting place even with Lemina fit or will be below the likes of Davis, Redmond and Boufal in the pecking order?

Overall, Southampton can be happy with a point after not really doing enough to win the game. Yes, we would’ve liked to have taken three points from this game but we have to move on and hope for a win against Burnley before the international break!
