Last weekend was disappointing for Southampton as Brighton scored a late equaliser in a match the Saints should have won.

However, this week proved to be even more frustrating as Burnley came away with all three points against a lacklustre Southampton at St. Mary’s.

Sam Vokes’ 81st minute header has put more pressure on Mauricio Pellegrino. Southampton now sit 13th in the table, just five points above the relegation zone. The international break couldn’t have come at a better time for us as Pellegrino has a fortnight to gather his thoughts.

Here are the three takeaways from the match.
