Saints put on yet another lackluster performance this weekend against Burnely. The visitors were able to take all 3 points after Sam Vokes’ late winner, beating Fraser Forster with a header.
Saints dominated most of the game, but failed to find that cutting edge to breakdown an impressively organised Burnley back line. Saints now sit in 13th position, and need to get a few good results under their belt before a tough Christmas period.
After the international break the Saints finish November with a tricky run of games against Liverpool, Everton and Manchester City – four points could be the max that Pellegrino and his team could aspire for.
Several disillusioned fans have called for the manager’s head after the indifferent start and another worrying performance against Burnley – he’d join a long list of managers to lose their job, including most recently Slaven Bilic.
