Goalkeeper and defenders

FRASER FORSTER. 6. Had a relatively quiet afternoon until Vokes’ late goal. Poor performances of late are very visible in the way he plays, and he needs to get past that to perform to the best of his ability.. Goalkeeper. Southampton

Southampton. RYAN BERTRAND. 7. The left-back was one of Saints’ best players. He linked up well with Redmond down the left flank, and was solid when he needed to be at the back.. Left-back

5. A sloppy performance from the Japanese international was topped off by being at fault for the Burnley goal. The normally reliable Yoshida gave the ball away too much.. Centre-back. Southampton. MAYA YOSHIDA

6. A quiet performance from the Dutchman in which he never really got involved in the game. Was relatively reliable when when he needed to be, but also went missing for large portions of the game.. Centre-back. Southampton. VIRGIL VAN DIJK

Right-back. Southampton. CEDRIC SOARES. 6. The normally energetic and high-flying right-back did not act like his normal self yesterday. He gave the ball away on numerous occasions and his deliveries into the box were poor.
