Is this a sign of things to come?

There has been a dark cloud looming over St. Mary’s for much of the past year, and this is really starting to hit home now.

The fans are right to be disgruntled. They are not seeing anything like value for the money from the hard-earned cash they spend watching their team. Having had a team to be proud of for much of the last five years or more, they want to see more progression and not stagnant, stale performances on the pitch.

Saints are just four points off the bottom three with Everton, the faultless Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and Manchester United to play before January. This will be a defining period in the season, and the club need to decide whether they want to go forward or fail spectacularly.

The Everton home match next Sunday has now become more “must-win” than ever.
