Southampton 4-1 Everton: Three key players
By Marc Walker
Dusan Tadic
Tadic has performed well below what is expected of him this season, and he hasn’t been anything like the creative spark that Southampton need in their side.
However, he put in a good performance in this match and managed to pick up a goal and an assist.
He opened the scoring in the 18th minute when he was put in on goal by Ryan Bertrand, held off his marker well and slid the ball under the onrushing Pickford. His assist for Charlie Austin’s second goal was a nice cross into the perfect area between the Everton defence and goalkeeper.
The Serbian was operating in a central role behind Austin and was able to influence the game a lot more.Perhaps this is the role that can help him return to his creative best, particularly with Sofiane Boufal looking at home on the left of midfield in this game too.
