Callum Wilson

The 25-year-old striker scored six times last season in Bournemouth’s second season in the top flight, with his goals helping them secure their Premier League status. Wilson’s season was unfortunately cut short, however, with the former England Under-21 international suffering a terrible knee injury – which he only returned from in October. Since then, Wilson has four goals in all competitions, looking set to equal and better his 2016-17 tally.

Wilson is a player with immense pace, and he looks to use it at every opportunity. This was exemplified when he beat the offside trap for his second goal against The Terriers in November, before slotting past Jonas Lossl.

The forward is also prolific in the air despite his height, and this is something that manager Eddie Howe may be looking to exploit because of Southampton’s (and Fraser Forster’s) weakness from set pieces.

Wilson also has a 80% penalty conversion rate throughout his professional career, missing just two – so Cherries fans will be confident should he get the chance to score from the spot.
