Striker and Substitutes

CHARLIE AUSTIN. 8. For the second successive Sunday, Charlie Austin has been Southampton’s main threat up front. His hold up play was good, his off-the-ball running could do with some work, but most importantly… he can (and will) score goals!. Striker. Southampton

Came on for Ward-Prowse at half-time. Looked to have taken Guardiola’s advice on board, as his final ball was a lot sharper today, and didn’t look to pass backward at the first opportunity – provided a great assist for the goal.. Right-wing (Substitute). Southampton. NATHAN REDMOND. 7

Southampton. MARIO LEMINA. 6. Lemina was introduced for Tadic with 15 minutes remaining and didn’t leave his mark on the game. Picked up a harsh booking for a (first) tame foul, but otherwise looked slightly off the pace when compared to what we’re used to from the Gabon international.. Centre Midfield (Substitute)

-. Gabbiadini touched the ball once in his eight-minute spell off the substitutes bench (on for Davis), which is probably not the impact Mauricio Pellegrino had in mind.. Striker (Substitute). Southampton. MANOLO GABBIADINI
