Boufal is frustratingly inconsistent!

With another start under his belt, Sofiane Boufal has made a place in the starting lineup a more regular occasion.

Unfortunately, his performances have been inconsistent. He always shows his flair and undoubted talent but he didn’t have the best of fortunes at the Vitality. Lucky to get away with a blatant foul in the box, Boufal should’ve scored when a cutback found him on the edge of the box but the Moroccan’s effort was blasted over Begovic’s bar.

Boufal got a fantastic assist against Manchester City on Wednesday night but that was just pure skill and he isn’t making top-class performances a regularity. Most would prefer him to Redmond but he can’t really say he’s taken the chance thrown at him by Pellegrino.

Redmond vs Ward-Prowse is fully on!

Ward-Prowse was handed a place in the starting lineup once again by Pellegrino and showed his exceptional talent in deliveries as a corner should’ve been nodded into the goal by Virgil van Dijk and a sublime cross should’ve been scored by Charlie Austin.

However, the 23-year-old was replaced by his former England Under-21 compatriot at half time who seemed motivated after a bicker with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola on Wednesday.

Redmond was the one credited with the assist for Austin’s goal and was a key contributor to a much improved second half performance.

Playing behind an in-form striker may benefit the winger as it’s clear that he wants to do his best for the side. It will be interesting to see how much game time each player gets over the next few weeks and whether they’ll be played together.
