Southampton made Arsenal dig deep to savour a point at St. Mary’s on Sunday. Despite the result, there is plenty of positives to take from the game.

The hosts, arguably deserving of a win have been evermore impressive since the turn of December. Some might argue this point as Saints have only acquired five points in their last four games. But performances in those games have been impressive and passionate.

It has been rather unfortunate that they have not acquired better results of late. But lack of keeping a lead or draw against their London opponents and Manchester City have cost them four points. It would harsh to draw on the negatives though given the effort provided by the players.

There is no doubt that continuity of similar performances will in turn provide better results against lesser opponents. But here are some thoughts to take-away against a somewhat inform Arsenal.
