Forwards and substitutes

Striker. Southampton. CHARLIE AUSTIN. 7.5. The goals just keep coming.  Austin looks like he is in peak fitness at the moment, and Pellegrino is rewarding him for his efforts.  Had a really good first half, but could have scored two or three.  Caught offsides a couple times, and missed a break away that would have seen the Saints up two inside ten minutes.  Hold up play was excellent as the number 9.  Defensive tactics in the second half unfortunately negated his abilities.

This was a game built for Boufal, and it would have been interesting to see him come on earlier, and pair with Redmond for pace.  Did some nice things on the defensive end today, displaying his progression.. Attacking-midfielder. Southampton. SOFIANE BOUFAL. 7

6. Came on for Austin with 5 minutes remaining and received little service.  Will be interesting if we see him midweek vs. Leicester.. Striker. Southampton. MANOLO GABBIADINI

5. Was coming on for Tadic to see the game out prior to the Giroud goal. Although he came on in a tie game. No time to make an impact otherwise.. Attacking-midfielder. Southampton. STEVEN DAVIS
