Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Hojbjerg was re-introduced to the starting line-up against Arsenal and kept up his impressive form since returning to Mauricio Pellegrino’s matchday squads.

His and Oriol Romeu’s defensive qualities were vital in keeping Arsenal at bay until late on. He was strong and determined in possession, but also made some vital blocks to keep Saints ahead for most of the game.

With a lot of games coming up over the Christmas period, Hojbjerg is going to be an important and well-utilised option for his side; particularly with matches against strong teams coming up where Saints will expect to defend for large spells.
