Strikers and substitutes

Charlie had his heart in this game and gave it his all.  Little service and being forced to drop back to receive the ball limited his chances.  Shocked he did not put away the Bertrand cross in his current form.  Still, attitude, and work ethic were better than most.. 5.5. Brought on at half time for Romeu and paired up top with Austin. Did little going forward and dropped too deep to receive the ball. No clear chances on net, and cannot seem to connect his runs with his teammates’ passes.. Striker. Southampton. MANOLO GABBIADINI

Redmond added some speed down the left hand side, and was better than Boufal today.  Made a great pass to spring Bertrand forward with momentum swinging the Saints direction.  Ten minutes later failed to get his head up and played a pass to no one, summing up the night on the south coast.. 5. Came on far too late in a lost game for Tadic.  Was not allowed to make an impact, and should have been subbed on earlier.. Centre-midfielder. Southampton. JAMES WARD-PROWSE
